Fermilab, located in Batavia, Illinois, required a highly specialized, 3-story steel building to build, house, and test research and development equipment, complete with precast metal panels, curtain walls, and a substantial 40-ton crane. The unique challenge was to seamlessly integrate this new facility with two existing buildings while ensuring they remained fully operational throughout construction.
